SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

SCIENCE TALES

Science Tales submissions should be a maximum of 750 words. The overall format is up to you, however we ask that you do include general information about your field and research purposes to provide context for readers. Authors should be aware of the readability of their submissions, and should ensure that their work is accessible and understandable to a wider audience. This includes using shorter sentence and paragraphs, and limiting the use of jargon. Title suggestions are also encouraged, and should be concise and fun! Feel free to get your pun on.

SCIENCE GLOSSARY

If you've used a word in your Science Tales post that might need a definition for those outside your field, you can submit it to our Science Glossary page! Definitions should be concise, and should avoid the use of further jargon in their explanation. The same word can mean different things in different fields, so make sure to include a little bit of context in your submission (e.g. in what field does this word have your definition?).

ART GALLERY

We highly encourage original art submissions that can either pair with your Science Tales post, or be standalone posts on our Art Gallery page. Personal drawings, comics, notebook pages with initial project outlines, cool petri dish colonies, colorful stratigraphy, etc. are all great options. Submissions should include a brief caption, and should have good overall resolution.

CONTENT GUIDELINES

Before submitting, please check out our Content Standards to ensure your submission doesn't violate any of our content policies. In general, we ask that you have permission from relevant sources to share your content, and that you refrain from submitting content that could be used to identify individuals or contains sensitive material. We want to maintain an inclusive and open environment, and we ask that you keep this in mind when preparing your submissions.
